recap...

I've been pretty busy the past month and haven't really had time to write any long recaps of my adventures.  So this is an attempt to at least document some of what I've been up too :)

The April session was wonderful.  I was the student manager which meant I did morning exercises with the students every morning (at the early hour of 8) and was the person they were to come to if they had questions or major issues.  It was a huge blessing to serve in this role and get to know so many of the students.

After the session I headed to Yunnan with one of the other facilitators, Karen.  This is a location I had wanted to go to for a long time.  Went flew to Kunming, visited Dali, Quijing where I was able to see 2 students from my second session, and Zhoatang, where Joe and Naomi (former Chinese staff and great friends) now live.  It was a wonderful trip and my only complaint is we didn't have enough time!

I returned to Beijing in time to have a few days to get a lot of things wrapped up and work done, because I left 6 days later to go to America!  Once again, I was blessed on the way home as Doc flew on the same flight as me and we were able to enjoy a great breakfast in at the Chicago airport before we left on our next flights.  I was picked up from the airport by my dad, met my younger brother for lunch, and then later in the night got the phone call saying my nephew, Elijah Joseph Twarek, was born!

This past week I have relaxed, slept, went on a trip to Detroit to hold a little baby, and enjoyed the time with my parents.  I look forward to seeing many friends, more relaxing, and a great 3 1/2 more weeks before returning to China!

and...since pictures make everything more fun...here is Eli and I!
